SignChat by MagicalSign is provided by MagicalSign Team ("MagicalSign", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how SignChat accesses, collects, uses, shares, protects, retains, and deletes user data.

2. Information We Collect or Access
- Account information: email address, display name or username, encrypted authentication credentials, user ID, subscription status, and account settings when you create or use an account.
- Optional profile information: optional age, gender, or learning preferences if you choose to provide them.
- Learning and app activity: learning progress, completed lessons, study sessions, achievements, quiz or game progress, whiteboard preferences, and other in-app interactions used to provide learning features.
- Microphone access: when you use the Voice Recognition feature, SignChat requests microphone permission so speech can be converted to text. We do not store raw microphone recordings on our backend and we do not use microphone data for advertising.
- Purchase information: subscriptions and purchases are processed by Google Play. We may receive purchase tokens, product IDs, and subscription status from Google Play to unlock paid features. We do not receive or store your payment card or bank account details.
- Device, diagnostics, and security data: app version, device model, operating system version, network status, crash or diagnostic information, and security logs needed to operate, protect, and improve the service.
- Support communications: messages and contact details you provide when you request help.
We do not sell personal or sensitive user data. We do not use the Android Advertising ID for advertising and SignChat does not serve third-party ads.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain, and personalize sign-language learning features.
- Create and manage accounts, login, subscriptions, and access to paid content.
- Save learning progress, settings, and achievements.
- Enable Voice Recognition only when you choose to use that feature and grant microphone permission.
- Provide customer support and respond to privacy or deletion requests.
- Improve app reliability, fix bugs, prevent misuse, and keep the service secure.
- Comply with legal, safety, billing, and policy obligations.
4. Sharing and Service Providers
We do not share personal data with third parties for advertising. We may share or process data with service providers only as needed to run SignChat, such as hosting and backend infrastructure, authentication, customer support, analytics or diagnostics, security, and Google Play Billing. These providers process data on our behalf or according to their own applicable terms and privacy practices.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users and the service, to investigate abuse or security issues, or with your consent.
5. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal and sensitive user data, including encrypted network connections where data is transmitted, access controls, and limited internal access based on operational need. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect user data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain account data and server-side learning data while your account is active or as needed to provide SignChat. Local learning data remains on your device until you clear it, delete your account, or uninstall the app. Some records may be retained for a limited period when necessary for security, fraud prevention, billing, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.

7. Your Choices and Rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. You can control microphone access through Android system permissions. If microphone permission is denied, Voice Recognition will not record audio. You can also manage subscriptions through Google Play.
8. Children
SignChat is intended for users age 13 and older and for supervised educational use by families, teachers, and learners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. International Users
Your information may be processed in the country where you live and in other countries where our service providers operate. We take steps designed to protect information as described in this Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the updated policy at this same public URL.
